This document discusses setting up a private cloud using a Raspberry Pi. It begins by defining cloud computing according to NIST standards, distinguishing between software, platform and infrastructure as a service models. It then discusses setting up a Raspberry Pi with the operating system Raspbian, and installing OwnCloud for file hosting and Nginx as the web server. Step-by-step instructions are provided for configuring the Raspberry Pi, OwnCloud, dynamic DNS service No-IP, and AFP file sharing to enable external access to the private cloud. The setup is then compared to commercial cloud services and the NIST cloud computing characteristics.
