- 2. Reflex Stimulus Response Biceps (C5, C6) ; musculocutaneous nerve Patient in sitting with arm flexed and supported. Place thumb over biceps tendon in cubital fossa Stretch it slightly Tap thumb or directly on tendon. Slight contraction of elbow flexors. Brachioradialis/ supinator (C5,C6) ; radial nerve Patient is in sitting with arm flexxed onto the abdomen Place finger on the radial tuberosity and tap finger with hammer. Slight contraction of elbow flexors, Slight wrist extension or radial deviation.

- 5. Reflex Stimulus Response Triceps (C6,C7) ; radial nerve Patient is sitting with arm supported in abduction, elbow flexed. Palpate triceps tendon just above olecranon. Tap directly on tendon. Slight contraction of elbow extensors. Hamstrings (L5, S1, S2) ; tibial branch of sciatic nerve Patient in prone with knee semiflexed and supported Palpate tendon at the knee Tap on finger or directly on tendon. Slight contraction of knee flexors.

- 9. Reflex Stimulus Response Quadriceps/ patellar/ knee jerk (L2,L3,L4) ; femoral nerve Patient in sitting with knee flexed, foot unsupported. Tap tendon of quadriceps muscle between patella and tibial tuberosity. Slight contraction of knee extensors. Achilles/ ankle jerk (S1,S2) ; tibial nerve Patient is prone with foot over the end of plinth or sitting with knee flexed and foot held in slight dorsiflexed. Tap tendon just above its insertion on calcaneus. Maintaining slight tension on gastrocnemius-soleus improves response. Slight contraction of plantarflexors
