Have you ever thought how a
cloud is formed?
In the air there is invisible
water vapor that, when it
condenses, forms water
droplets therefore forming a
cloud in the sky.

At the end of the day, clouds
are formations of vapor,
droplets and sometimes ice, this
might feel like the steam in your
shower.
Do they look similar to you?
There are many types of clouds
in the sky but I am going to
show you the majority of clouds
that we can see every moment
of the day.
HIGH CLOUDS
Located at an altitude between 5,000 and
13,000 m. High clouds include: cirrus,
cirrocumulus, and cirrostratus. These clouds
are generally composed of ice crystals.
filamentary and frayed
appearance allows them to be
easily identified. Its fibrous
texture, made up of ice, If it
increases in extension it
announces a cold front.
Woolly textured sky with small
groupings that look like sea waves.
They are generally white clouds.
CIRROCUMULUS
Thin layer of ice crystals that
produces striking crowns and rings
around the sun. These announce rain.
CIRROSTRATES
MEDIUM CLOUDS
Located at an altitude between 2,000 and
7,000 m. Middle clouds include: cumulonimbus
and altocumulus. They are generally water
clouds, except when the temperature in the
atmosphere at that altitude is low enough for
ice crystals to form.
They are known as storm clouds.
They are clouds associated with
torrential rain, snow, hail,
lightning and tornadoes.
CUMULONIMBUS
Its color is grayish-white and
one part of the cloud is darker
than the other. They usually
appear in groups. Altocumulus
clouds on a hot, humid day
indicate that there will be a
thunderstorm in the afternoon.
ALTOCUMULUS
Low Clouds
They are clouds whose bases are below 2,000
meters and that are almost always composed
of water droplets; although in cold climates
they may also contain ice and snow particles.
The word means stretched out.
These clouds can be fairly gray
or white and they hang very low
above the ground. It’s the type
of cloud you would look on a
gloomy day.
They are dark gray and have an
irregular base. They are
associated with rain and snow.
Sometimes they cover the
entire sky and the cloud axes
cannot be seen.
NIMBOESTRATES
The word means “heap” these
clouds look like cauliflower or
like cotton balls when they’re
together.
