Tools for Reverse Engineering (Hardware & Software) • Reverse Engineering hardware used for data accusation. • The output of RE data accusation are 2-D cross-sectional image & point clouds that define the geometry of an object. • RE Software transforms RE data produced by RE hardware into a 3D geometric models. • The RE data processing chain can be one of two types • Polygon • Curves • Polygon models are commonly used rapid prototyping, laser milling, 3D Graphics, Simulation and animations.
