- 7. WHAT WE DO Collaborative production involving an art director, a photographer, a food stylist, a prop stylist and their respective assistants. WHAT WE DON’T We don’t use cement to replace real ice cream or any kind of fake food. We also don’t spend our clients’ time and money on aimlessly expensive lighting/technical equipment.
- 8. Our food photography process comprises of 4 simple steps.
- 9. STYLING Food styling is the art of arranging food and props together to make it look appealing, tasty and fresh. Art that can make you drool.
- 10. The time and effort our stylists take to carefully and artfully arrange your food, is very different from the way a home cook or even a professional chef may.
- 11. Our techniques involve using heavy cream instead of milk in bowls of cereal to prevent them from becoming soggy too quickly, creating steam with cool air nebulizers or a blow-torch to heat up cold food, spraying food with water or mixtures of water, corn syrup, and many more!
- 12. LIGHTING Good lighting is always essential for that perfect frame, especially while conducting food or product photography.
- 13. Natural sunlight is food photography’s best friend but it's extremely difficult to achieve in-focus photographs without adequate light. While we prefer natural light over any kind of equipment, sometimes it is necessary to bring out our professional studio lighting kits.
- 14. Styling & lighting can definitely make food look better, but what if the actual dish at our client’s restaurant is not visually exciting?
- 15. FRAMING Don’t worry, we got you covered! We treat every dish like a model and beautify it before discovering the best angle to shoot it.
- 16. For example, if we are going for a “top shot” we ensure all elements in the frame are visible from above.
- 17. EDITING Editing is when captured photographs require our attention to detail and acquire perfection on softwares like Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop.
- 18. At Lensplate, we shoot in RAW mode and every production or project is not over until the editing process is completed.
