This lesson plan aims to teach English level 1 university students how to use the grammar structure "there is/are" to describe places. Over the 90 minute class, students will be introduced to "there is/are" through a warmup video activity. They will then identify the function and structure through questions about another video. Controlled practice with "Pearl trees" will have students practice in different forms. For an outcome, students will use a forum to describe their homes and comment on each other's posts. Finally, students will learn how to buy and sell a house through a listening activity and role play using voice thread. - 3. Rationale Profile of learners: • describe ages and language level They are university students who are studying their first semester of law . They are in average 17 years old. Most of them have studied English in their high school and just two have not studied English in high school. • outline linguistic and affective needs - • This group shows an average level of A1.2. Most of them a high level of proficiency for the level and just two are behind.
