Chapter 1
At the end of this chapter, you will be able to:
 Have a good understanding of Production and Amadeus
Training
 Sign-in to Amadeus system
 Have a good understanding of the sign elements
 Define work areas
 Know functionality of each icon in Amadeus system
 Sign-out of Amadeus system

Amadeus Environments
 There are two different environments in Amadeus:
– Amadeus Production Environment
• to make real bookings for passengers
– Amadeus Training Environment
• to learn and practice
• a separate system dedicated to deliver training

Connection to Amadeus Selling Platform
 If in production environment then launch the Amadeus
Selling Platform
– Start Internet Explorer
– Enter the URL: http://amadeusvista.com
– Click on Launch Amadeus Selling Platform

Connection to Amadeus Training
 To launch Amadeus Training:
– Start Internet Explorer
– Enter the URL: http://training.amadeusvista.com
– Click on Launch Amadeus Selling Platform

Sign In elements
 Office ID:
– Each office (Travel Agency, Airline, Hotel Provider, etc.) is
known by a unique Office ID in Amadeus
– A nine-character code consists of:
BEG 1A0 901
City Code
Corporate Code
and Qualifier
Office Code

Terminal Address
 Each terminal connected to Amadeus at each office is known by a unique
eight-character code called Terminal Address such as:
58 98 000A

Sign Definition
 Sign is a unique eight-character code at each office
1708 AN SU
(Numeric)
Agent Sign
Duty Code(Alpha)

Duty codes in Amadeus
 Each sign has one duty code or several duty codes attached
which defines rights and duties of the sign
– AS: Agent sell (Travel agents only)
– CE: Customer engineer
– GS: General sales agent
– PD: Pre/Post departure agent
– PR: Programmer
– RC: Space Control
– SU: Supervisor
– TR: TTY reject agent

Work Areas
 For each terminal, there are six work areas
– When agents share a terminal, each agent can work independently in
a different area
– When only one agent uses a terminal, that Agent can use all six-work
areas
 The areas are identified as A, B, C, D, E, and F
– Multiple work areas enable you to perform different transactions in
different areas
 Work area by default is A!

Sign In
If you want to change
your password then in the
field New password enter
different value from
previous password!

Work in Command Page
 When sign-in the graphical screen is shown
 To access the Command Page (for cryptic entries) click on
 To see the system date enter the transaction code: DD
– To check if you are in Training environment
– If the current date is shown then you are not in training!
– The date should be 5 weeks before current date (today’s date)

Previously Sent Amadeus Commands (p. 14)
 If you want to send the same command again or to
edit it then click on:

 For splitting the window click on:

Sign-in on the Command Page (p. 20)
 To display work areas: JD (Jump Display)
– MOD: PRD (Production) or TRN (Training)

Sign-in
 To sign-in to the available area in Production Mode: JI (Jump
In)
– JIAgent sign/(Slash)Duty code-(Dash) password
– e.g. JI1708AN/SU-student
 To sign-in to training: JJ
– JJ1708AN/SU-password

Sign-out (p. 20)
 Sign out of the current area: JO (Jump Out)
 Sign out from all areas: JO*
– It is important to sign out of the system at the end of the day, or when
leaving your terminal for an extended period of time
– Idle areas will be signed out after 30 minutes automatically

SYSTEM - AIS
Chapter 2
At the end of this chapter, you will be able to:
 Explain Amadeus Information System
 Find a list of topics available in AIS
 Access to airlines’ information
 Access to countries’ information
 Access to airports’ information
 Access to weather’ information

Amadeus Information System (AIS)
 The AIS is a central source of reference information organised in
categories, subjects, and pages
 There are two types of information in AIS:
– Information provided and maintained by Amadeus
– Information provided and maintained by outside providers (e.g. Lufthansa)

Display AIS main topics
 To display a list of all topics in AIS, enter: GG AIS
– GG (Go Go)
– AIS consists of the category, subject and page
 Scrolling Commands:

Airline (AIR) Information
 Airline information is maintained by each airline - not by Amadeus
 To request general airline information page, enter: GG AIR
 To request information for a specific airline, for example for Austrian Airlines
Information Pages, enter: GG AIR OS
 To request specific subject related to an airline, for example Procedures and
Information on Baggage Items for Austrian Airlines Group, enter: GG AIR
OS BAGS
Exercises
– List info pages for Alitalia Airlines, enter: GG AIR AZ
– Change language: GP;IT
– Find Austrian office in Belgrade: GG AIR OS BEG
– Lufthansa office in Belgrade: GG AIR LH BEG
– What is free baggage allowance at the economy class for JAT Airways (JU)?

Country (COU) Information
 Country Information is maintained by Amadeus
 To display the list of countries that start with the letter
A, enter: GG COU A
 To display information about specific country, for example
Country information for Austria, enter: GG COU AT
Exercises
– List public holidays in Austria
– What are the main attractions in Austria?
– What are the typical meals in Serbia (RS)?
– Find info about accommodation in Montenegro (ME)
– When does the international jazz festival in Croatia (HR) take place?

Airport (APT) Information
 Airport information is obtained from different airport authorities and/or
airlines
 For each airport, five subjects are available:
– General information
– Parking information
– Check-in information (terminal name or number, and names of airlines
departing and arriving from that terminal)
– Airport facilities information (banks, lounges, post office, and other)
– Ground surface transportation information (transportation services between
airport and major cities)
 To access the airport pages, enter: GG APT XXX (Where XXX stands for the
airport code)

Airport information
 Exercises:
– Display information about airports in London (LON)
– Display information about Belgrade (BEG) airport, and answer the
following questions:
• How much does the car parking per day cost?
• What are the opening hours of the duty free?
– Display general information about Vienna (VIE) international
airport, and answer the questions:
• How many kilometers are from the airport to the city?
• How much does a taxi cost?
• How long does the journey take?
• How much are the left luggage lockers?
• What are the opening hours of the post office?

– Find info about Amadeus in Austria (AT)
 Detailed information on type of access and function levels for
the Amadeus Participating carriers: GG PCA
– Look for the type of access for JAT Airways: GG PCA JU
– Find access and function level for Austrian Airlines (OS)
 Weather information for a specific city: GG WEA BEG
– Obtain a 5-day weather forecast for Vienna (VIE)
 List of all codes beginning with the letter W: GG CODE W
