Part 1 10 mins 
Test the knowledge of lesson 1 and 2 
first test Basic Pinyin letters, and then I will speak sentence (Which we learned at lesson 2) 
slowly, the student need to figure out how to spell it in Pinyin and add proper tones on it.  
 
Part 2  20 mins 
Talk about the test ( Student didn’t do very well in this test, he mis­remembered many letters), 
try to figure out how to improve it next time (This student specifically, lack of self­control, I need 
to look at him to finish his homework). Do some review about everything I just tested.  
 
Part 3 30 mins 
learn more about how to use Pinyin to spell pronunciation. To make the class more interesting, I 
try to ask him what he is more interested to learn, and we spell it together through Pinyin. The 
student wanted to learn how to speak “sword” and “sword of fire”, which means he probably is a 
fun of video games. I would try to teach him more small tips about video games in the future.  
He also learned how to pronounce and write chinese character “one, two three, four, five”. I 
taught him basic writing skills but didn’t push him too much. Our goal for that class is still the 
reemphasize of Pinyin.  
 
 
P.S 
Teaching skill used: Three lines method 
put Pinyin at the top line, students need to know how to pronounce based on Pinyin 
Characters at the second line, but students are not required to memorize or to write 
English words at the bottoms line, to help the students memorize

summary:  
Student learn better in a more comprehensive way. Rather than only focus on Pinyin, I will begin 
to let him gradually learn more about the basic characters and the logic behind chinese 
characters.
