I have forty-four years of business experience, including eighteen years as chief human resources officer for large corporations ($2+ billion in annual revenue). I retired six years ago to found my own consulting firm. I am telling you this to set the stage for the following recommendation. As the Treasurer of the Alumni Association for Sigma Pi, Beta Chapter, I have had the opportunity to work with, and to observe the leadership provided, by Zach Rush. During his time as President of this fraternity chapter (approximately 80 young men) Zach faced many challenges. He never backed away from, or procrastinated in, solving these challenges and while doing so he maintained the respect of those whom he led. If there was a job to be done Zach got it done. No prodding was needed. He saw the issues on his own and went about resolving those issues, leading his executive council to proactively do what needed to be done to manage a $750,000 per year in revenue business in a very successful way. Obviously, based on this I highly recommend Zach for any intern position which you might have available. Suffice it to say, if I were still in my role of VP, HR I would be recruiting Zach to become a part of my company. One last comment, Zach is such an effective leader and thinker that he was invited to become an adviser to the Alumni Association Board. This was the first time ever that an undergraduate was asked to join the Board. This speaks to the value Zach adds with his intelligence and ability to team with others to implement important initiatives.
