Political, Social and Economic Factors
■ Socio-Economic Factor:
Social factors are things that affect someone's lifestyle. These could include wealth,
religion, buying habits, education level, family size and structure and population density.
Socio-economic issues are factors that have negative influence on an individuals'
economic activity including: lack of education, cultural and religious discrimination,
overpopulation, unemployment and corruption.
■ Economic stagnation, in contrast, creates uncertainties and risks for the poor, encouraging
people to stay in the slums. ... Rising rural poverty also encourages migration to urban areas. A
poorly performing economy, in other words, increases poverty and rural-to-urban migration,
thereby increasing slums.
■ This means that slums have a negative effect on natural ecosystems.Their presence
can cause environmental degradation and deplete natural resources such as timber. In
other words, slums represent an intertwining of the socio-economic and
environmental problems of urbanization.
Recommendation
In my point of view,
■ We should increase the education level, so after that they employee in a better way
and help Pakistan towards progress.
■ Government should invest to improve the standard of people not in the big cities and
only for the sake of vote, but also help them to give them space to help the city.
■ Government should try to give opportunity of job to slum people for their better life.
■ Different political issue as shown in the report should be away from them so people
help them to take out from poverty line.
■ Proper sanitation facilities should be given to them.
■ Ethical learning is also important and they should be given them.
■ Government should take this matter to really concern because this a really important
issue and they should take it serious.
Conclusion:
■ In the end we see that there are many problems in a country when it has a lower
income people. It is not only affecting the local area of that place where they are living
but also affects the economy and status of whole country. Similarly in Pakistan, many
people lives below the poverty line and they are facing many problem even they have
lack of basic necessities of life. Pakistan is a developing country and the big problem is
to control the population of the country to give the direction of the country towards
progress because they are facing less recourses, less productive people and more
poverty is increases.
Do slum areas are good for the country
or not?
■ The problem is caused by the slum that effect the common
man life that I discuss above and mention in my questionnaire
and also effect the economy of a city as well as country level.
Slums are representing the status of a country and Pakistan
has a large number of polluted and underdeveloped areas in
form of slums.
