INTRODUCTION
• There is an increasing demand for smart homes, where appliances react
and as per the need and can be easily controlled through one common
device
• This project presents a solution to the user for light automation by
communicating to the microcontroller from a mobile phone wirelessly
through its bluetooth connectivity.
• The aim of this project is to design and implement a circuit to control
home or industrial appliances using the help of bluetooth to interface and
control appliances reduces human efforts without compromising on
efficiency.

• In Bluetooth based light automation system the home appliances are
connected to the Arduino Uno, HC-05 BT board and 2 Channel relay
module.
• The program of Arduino board is based on high level interactive C
language of microcontrollers using Arduino IDE.
• The HC-05 connection is made via Bluetooth. The password protection is
provided so only authorized user is allowed to access the appliances. The
Bluetooth connection is established between HC-05 board and mobile
bluetooth for wireless communication.

• Light automation refers to control the Light appliances by using
electronics technology. Light automation provides ease of use.
Thus, it is adopted more worldwide.
• Providing automation using remote device interface application to
wirelessly control appliances using advanced hardware
compornents.

Advantages

• It is a robust and easy to use system.
• There is no need for extra training of that person who is using it.
• All the control would be in your hands by using this light automation
system.
• This project can provide the facility of monitoring all the appliances
with in the communication range through Bluetooth.
• The schematic of Arduino is open source, for the future
enhancement of the project board can be extended to add more
hardware features

Disadvantages

• Bluetooth is used in this light automation system, which have a
range of 10 to 15 meters so the control cannot be achieved from
outside this range.
• When the new users want to connect, They initially have to
download android application.
• Constant power consumption because of needed for operation of
device.

• Arduino automation device is a special kind of embedded device
which controls home appliances without using extra effort.
• A type of device which is compact in size, low cost, highly reliable &
high functionality has been created successfully
