  • #13: Good listeners are believed to be great innovators and making out great stratergies. Richard Branson, talks and debates with employees on serious issue. takes out employyes to tropical islands – NEW IDEAS, INNVOLMENT OF SUBORDINATES .Invite guest speakers to your office . Go to events focusing on topics that are not strictly related to your industry and bring some of your employees along. One of the best ways to learn is by taking your team members out of their comfort zone and embracing new ideas and you will see results. Amazon- once a online books store.   • #14: Last year I went to a workshop called LEAN STARTUP MACHINE. What their main ideology for a early stage startup is- validate before you start. Imagine building a great website for 6 months, you put in all ur efforts, money and then after 6 releasing u come to know tht such product was not a neccesity. The problem u were targetting was never a problem for the mass. So talk to customers first, LISTEN to them…then start. One more example… give my example!!!!!
  • #15: The big miss for most leaders is that they fail to understand that the purpose of communication is not to message, but to engage, and to have a meaning full conversation – THIS REQUIRES LISTENING. Have you ever walked into an important meeting and wondered who the smartest person in the room was? If you mull this over for a moment you’ll find the following statement to be accurate: almost universally, the smartest person in the room is not the one doing all the talking – it’s the person asking a few relevant and engaging questions and then doing most all the listening. THAT IS THE TRUE ESSENSE OF LISTENING
  • #17: The next step in the process is learning where to apply your new found listening skills. Listen to your customers, competitors, your peers, your subordinates, and to those that care about you. Ask people how you can become a better leader and then LISTEN. Innovate, get new ideas. If some competitor is giving u a hard time, make a plan, startergize and thn move forward. Every company has a R&D dept. this is what is its main aim
  • #18: From listening and learning comes the foundation from which to lead. More than charisma, real leadership is about being authentic, which is a trait that endures. Leadership is also about compassion and the genuine development of the people you are leading. Leadership is never about the one who leads; it is always about the team and the organization. Leadership is about helping people to develop and learn so that they are able to achieve extraordinary things. The leader who will not take the time to listen has effectively closed his mind as well as his ears.
