There are over 2,500 species of lizards that have various physical adaptations like padded toes, tiny hairs on their feet, and cone-shaped appendages on their heads that help them climb walls and grasp objects. Chameleons can swivel their eyes independently, allowing each eye to look in a different direction. Male green iguanas can grow very large and may flop over, while bearded dragons have soft spines all over their bodies and a spiky black throat pouch. Leopard geckos and African fat-tailed geckos have large heads and bulgy tails, and iguana lizards have tails longer than the main part of their bodies.
