Computing rooms There are five UCS-run computing rooms on site, available at all times to those with site access: Titan Teaching Rooms 1 & 2 Balfour Macintosh Room Phoenix Teaching Room Phoenix User Area In addition there is a computing room available in the University Centre
Windows/Linux rooms The Titan Teaching Rooms 1 & 2 and the Phoenix Teaching Room contain dual-boot PCs with a wide range of software  scanner & printer  The rooms are bookable teaching facilities but are open access at other times
Mixed platform rooms The Balfour Macintosh room, the Phoenix User Area and the Computing room at the University Centre contain a mixture of Macintoshes and PCs and also have: a wide range of software  scanner & printer  The Balfour Macintosh room is a  bookable teaching facility but is open  access at other times. The Phoenix User Area is open access at all times.
Videoconferencing We offer a city-centre based professional  studio as well as portable equipment for  use on your own premises. Our service  is available to staff and students of the  University and its related institutions. For general enquiries and consultancy,  our office hours are 9am-5pm weekdays.  Due to the nature of videoconferencing, with worldwide conferences and subsequent different timezones to be accommodated, videoconferences may will sometimes fall outside of these hours or days. Specialist Services Assistive technology Provides a wide range of advice, training and support enabling University staff and students with specific requirements to make effective use of information technology. Literary/language support Help with computing problems relating to the Humanities.

Training facilities We have four training facilities. All are equipped with an instructor machine, projectors, sound systems, induction loops and Sympodiums with interactive whiteboard software. The charge is on a sliding scale. University Training Booking System It provides real-time information on training availability; users can browse training courses, book online, receive immediate confirmation of booking and view their own training records. For training planning purposes it offers a central point for reporting on training provision and evaluation.
