Logic gates are electronic circuits that process true or false signals and are used to build more complex circuits. There are three basic logic gates: AND, OR, and NOT. The AND gate outputs true only if both inputs are true, the OR gate outputs true if either or both inputs are true, and the NOT gate inverts the input. There are also universal gates like NAND and NOR that can be combined to perform all logic functions, as well as other gates like XOR, XNOR, and buffers.
