This document provides an overview of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and the role of informatics. It describes that Lombardi was established in 1970 and became an NCI-designated cancer center in 1974. It conducts over $100M in research annually across 4 research programs and 9 shared resources. Key accomplishments include developing the HPV vaccine and discoveries in DNA repair and breast cancer. The Innovation Center for Biomedical Informatics (ICBI) supports Lombardi through expertise in various informatics areas including data management, software development, and clinical genomics. ICBI has various resources and linkages to data across Lombardi to support discovery, clinical research, and education.
