RATIONAL/BACKGROUND
•Basura Mo! Recycle Mo! Kita Mo! project
provides its stakeholders with hands-on
experience that helps them grow to see that
efforts to cut the wasteful use of resources
does make a difference. As we assessed the
community, we have noticed that solid
waste management is the big problem in
the community.
This is how the community addressed
their garbage problem
TAKE CARE THE MOTHER
EARTH
WASTE

materials ranging from municipal garbage to
industrial wastes that contain complex &
sometimes hazardous substances”

composition changing.

WASTE MANGEMENT CONCEPT
• The 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to be
followed for waste management.
REDUCE
REUSE
RECYCLE
REDUCE
• Disposable goods: paper plate, paper bowl,
Styrofoam cup, plastic spoon, roll of paper
towels, paper napkin; Durable goods:
ceramic/plastic plate, metal spoon,
glass/plastic drinking cup, dish towel, cloth
napkin
REUSE
• Instead of buying new containers from the
market, use the ones that are in the
house.Don’t through away the soft drink can or
bottle cover them with home made paper or
paint on them and use them as pencil stands
or small vases
RECYCLE
•Use shopping bags made of cloth or
jute which can be used over and over
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
Basura Mo! Recycle Mo! Kita Mo! project is
focuses on four key areas:
• have better resource management;
• to cultivate stakeholders awareness on proper
waste management;
• reduction of waste; and
• to earn while doing recycled items.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
• A Basura Mo! Recycle Mo! Kita Mo! project
can help stakeholders aware of where all that
trash goes and the fact that it is ‘go’, doesn't
just ‘go away’.
LANDFILLING
•Landfilling is the term used to describe
the process by which solid waste is
placed in the landfill.
Lumagbas project proposal  ppt
COMPOSTING
• It is the biological decomposition of organic
waste such as food or plant material by
bacteria, fungi, worms and other organisms
under controlled aerobic (occurring in the
presence of oxygen) conditions. The end
result of composting is an accumulation of
partially decayed organic matter called
humus. Composting with worms, also known
as vermiculture, results in nutrient-loaded
worm castings.
Lumagbas project proposal  ppt
RECYCLING
•It refers to the collection and refuse of
waste materials such as empty beverage
container. The materials from which the
items are made can be processed into
new products.
Household Recyclables
• Materials for recycling may be collected
separately from general waste using dedicated
bins.
OPERATION/IMPLEMENTATION
• do a survey of how many people are involved
(number of household);
• check the amount of garbage generated daily
and determine a place to store recyclables until
they are collected;
• make use of the Material Recovery Facilities
(MRF) of the barangay
OPERATION/IMPLEMENTATION
• determine where the recyclable material will
be sent;
• do only selective collection of material that can
be sent to recycling;
• develop a communication program of selective
collection and community mobilization, that
everyone knows how and why to participate.
SUCCESS INDICATORS
This Basura Mo! Recycle Mo! Kita Mo! will be properly
monitor by the responsible persons stated above. The
following are the success indicators of the project:
• The volume of the trash has been reduced;
• People in the community are enjoying the recycling
activities at the same time earning from their outputs
• No household are burning their waste ;
• Most residents are environment friendly and
responsible Eco warriors.
