The background image has been
darkened to make the
environment seem more dull and
mysterious. This is a main feature
on my front cover as this fits in
with the genre of horror.
I have used a blue box for the
cover lines as this links in with the
model’s eyes. The demon and
model has been brightened as this
catches the audiences eye as well
as making the image stand out
from the background rather than
blending in.
I have added the masthead ‘Empire’
as this is a major company in the
film industry. ‘Empire has been
made translucent as I want the
reader to be able to see the
darkness of the forest behind the
model. I have added a barcode and
issue date to my front cover as
these are typical conventions of a
magazine. There has been a blue
shape added to the bottom of my
magazine. I have used the colour
blue as this matches with the
models eyes and goes against the
colours from a traditional horror
movie.
I have now added subheadings such as
“Massive Preview Special” as these are
typical conventions used on a magazine
front cover. To attract the audience to buy
the magazine more the subheading “win a
chance to meet the subliminal cast” has
been used as this is a once in a life time
experience, which individuals can win. This
will also draw more of an audience which
are interested in horror films.
More information has been added to my
front cover as this creates more of a focus
as well as showing some content of the
inside of my magazine. I decided to use
an actress with blue eyes and blonde hair
because this is a traditional view of a
innocent and vulnerable character in a
horror movie.
The image of the model has been
darkened as it was too light in
contrast of the background. More
information has been added again
as the subheading ‘MEET
SUBLINIAL’S NEW STAR OLIVIA
PARKER’ now links in with the main
cover image. The colour scheme has
now changed to red, black, and
white as blue did not link in with
the genre of horror.
