INSTRUCTIONAL MANUAL FOR CANON MP287 /2770 CISS

The ink tank has two chamber per colour.Large chamber is to hold ink & small

Chamber to control air pressure. The ink should be in large chamber. Put tank reside

in large side shown in fig no 1.Then tank vertical.

Remove four numbers air breather shown in fig no-2.

Lastly remove the black paper clip from the tube Shown in fig no-3.

Printer & tank both must keep in same surface. Shown in fig no -4

Daily four color print compulsory.

During printing ink tank tube stuck inside then do following procedure.

Open scanner So both cartridge will come in centre. Switch of printer from mains. So set ink tube manually by

hand. Then move carriage by hand from left to right .Check tube stuck anywhere if stuck set tube manually.

This shown in fig no -5, fig no -6 & fig no -7.

Any transporting & any movement of printer. Please fix black paper clip on the
middle of tubing line (shown in fig no -8) to prevent ink flow into printer & damage
printer.

Provide one black kit & syringe with ciss shown in fig no -9.If air inside

Cartridge or print quality not good then follows the instruction.

Do not black paper clip at the time of removing air from cartridge.

Open scanner so both cartridge will come in centre. Switch of printer from mains (shown in fig no -10).Remove the
tubing from cartridge carriage shown in fig no -11.Open carriage cover shown in fig no -12.Remove cartridge from
carriage .Place cartridge & ink tank in same surface.

Place your cartridge on black plastic kit shown in fig no – 13. Remove air from black cartridge, insert the syringe in
small opening of plastic kit & begin extract air from cartridge (fig no – 14 & fig no - 15). That procedure repeat two to
three times until 2ml ink into syringe. Same procedure for color cartridge. That procedure shown in fig no – 14 & fig
no – 15.

After that put both cartridge into carriage (shown in fig no 16).

Close the cartridge cover, the tubing line fix into carriage cover (shown in fig no 17& fig no 18).

Check manually tubing not stuck inside printer then ok. Close scanner cover (shown in fig no 19).

Turn on printer.

REFILL INK INTO CISS

When ink level reached the indicator margin needs to refill. Use the black paper clip
to clip tube (shown in fig no – 20).Close other air breather.

Remove rubber plug from single color those you want to fill the ink shown (fig no – 21).

Refill the proper color of ink into corresponding ink tank. Tilt tank to large tank side
(shown in fig no -22). Repeat for 2 to 3 times up to large tank full. Put rubber plug.
Same procedure for all other three colors.

Use meet special & archit special ink for better result.

Please do not insert any foreign material

like stapler pin ,paper pins ,U pins in paper input shown in fig no – 23.

When the printer is turn on the LCD panel display code 1 and looks OK, but after the print, it will show
error E13 on canon MP258. Here’s a the picture above appears on the monitor screen.

This Step How To Resolve error e13 canon mp258:

Step 1 : error e13 canon mp258 with display picture above mean color cartridge is empty

Step 2 : press the STOP / RESET bit longer, the LCD panel will rotate, then release.

Step 3 : If an error occurs again E13, means black cartridge also need a reset (having run out), and the
picture is as follows:

Step 4 : press the STOP / RESET bit longer, the LCD panel will rotate, then release.

Step 5 : Printer Ready to use

Reset Canon MP258 Printer procedure:

1. Press power button / power switch 2. Plug cable power with holding power button
3. Press Reset button one, release power button and press reset button twice until control panel show “O”.
4. Press “+” buttom, display changing from 0 to 1. 5. Press Power Button again, Printer will be print 1page
6. Open printer cover 7. Unplug power 8. Take out cartridge 810 and 811 9. Plug power
10 . Press power switch 11. Open scan cover 12. Insert cartridge 810, 811

Reset Waste Ink Counter Canon MP258 / Fix Error E16 procedure:

1. Turn Off printer, press and hold Stop/Reset Button then Press ON/Off Button.

2. When pressing ON/OFF button, Press STOP/RESET button 2 times

3. Release both stop/reset button and On/Off Button, printer entering SERVICE MODE

4. Printer will be charging

5. After charging finished, press STOP/RESET button 4 times. (Waste ink counter reset)

6. Every time press STOP/RESET button, led ON/OFF button will be change to green and orange.

7. Turn off printer and unplug POWER

8. Turn On Printer.

1. Unplug the power cord

2. Press and hold down the Stop / Reset. 3. Insert the power cable
4. Press and hold down the power button (the button Stop / Reset fixed in press)
5. When pressing the Power button, then release the button Stop / Reset.
6. Press the Stop / Reset 2 times then release the Power button.
“Wait until the digit 0 appears in the display”
7. Press the Stop / Reset 1 time.
8. Press the Power button 1 time, the printer will print a sheet of paper.
9. Press the Stop / Reset 2 times.
10. Press the Power button 1 time, the printer will mecetak a sheet of paper
11. Press the Stop / Reset 3 times. 12. Press the Power button 1 time. (No printing)
13. Press the Stop / Reset 4 times
14. Press the Power button 1 time rather long and loose (to turn off the printers).
“If the printer still cannot get turned off, unplug the printer power.”
15. Turn on the printer.
16. E27 error message is gone & the printer is running normally.

Canon Pixma MP258 /MP287 Error Code and Possible Solution

P02 (Carriage error)
1. Make sure no foreign material stuck to the print head railway.
2. Clean and check the print head encoder strip cable (timing slit film or encoder strip is a white line on the
back of the box set of ink lines may be missing or mess up the ink.

1. P03 (Line feed error): an error in transmission line entering the line feed (LF) is a signal
telling the printer to move to another line or a whole new line that would not otherwise have reached the
end of the line.
2. Check wire print head position (timing slit disk film) on the side of the machine.
3. Check PCB logic board.

1. P05 (ASF sensor error) sensor for paper feed error.
 Try to replace the following:
 ASF / PE sensor unit.
 Drive unit.
 PCB logic board.

1. P06 (Internal temperature error): caused by abnormal heat inside the printer.
P07 (Ink absorber full): the Ink Waste pad (sponge) inside the printer is full
2. Replace the waste pad inside the printer or install waste ink bin outside the printer
3. Then Reset counter protection.

1. P08 (Print head temperature rise error): caused by thermal print head
temperature exceeds a threshold.
2. Replace the new cartridge print head and / or change a new logic board.

1. P09 (EEPROM error): caused by corrupted or defective EEPROM chips of the printer.
2. Replace the logic board.
3. P15 (USB VBUS over current): caused by too much current, try removing the USB cable and then plug-in
again, if solve the error; try to replace with a new USB cable. If the error still exists replace the logic board.

1. P20 (Other hardware error): The failure of other hardware.
2. Try to replace the logic board.
3. P22 (Scanner error): a scanner malfunction.
4. try to change the scanner unit or change at the logic board.
5. E13 or E16: Ink has run out
6. Pressing the Stop / Reset button for 5 to 8 seconds until the led screen display number 1.
E04, E05, E14 or E15: Cartridge may not be installed properly. Reinstall the ink cartridge.
