Market framework for Country bean (Draft copy)
Country bean Sector Strategy (vision, purpose, strategy,
interventions, target, and outputs):
1. Vision, purpose, strategy and outcomes:
Vision: To increase the country bean producer and link with relevant market actor’s for
better production and more income through country bean (green seed) production.
Purpose:
• To improve the existing market facilities and to create small holder farmers’
access to the market for more benefit.
• To increase the small holder farmers’ income at their household level for link with
input and out put market.
Considering strategies for implementation:
• Interventions will focus mainly on high value country bean (green seed)
production opportunities for small char producers. and on build market and,
which benefit the economic opportunities their household level as well as to
serve the community
• Focus on selected interventions which results greater impact
• Implement interventions in the Boyar char,Hatiya, Noahkali District following the
PRISM approach of IDE-Bangladesh.
Expected outcomes:
• Total number of country bean producer 3500 Increase number of producer 150
and increase income of 80% of target households 15-20% taka by improving
access to proper technologies/services/management in the char region
• A total of 90 service providers will improve their capacity by public and/or private
companies and provide better service to the clients in country bean market.
• Strong linkages develop among the producer, input and out put market actors.
• Increase Cultivating land for better employment opportunity for male and female
farmers of country bean production.

Constraint-1: Inadequate of quality seed in rural area market
