This document outlines the scoring criteria for two types of speeches in a competition: a prepared speech worth 60 marks that is 6 minutes long, and an impromptu speech worth 40 marks that is 3 minutes long. It describes how marks will be allocated for the prepared speech based on subject matter, originality of ideas, depth of knowledge, and use of language. Marks for the impromptu speech will be given based on knowledge of global affairs, sincerity, credibility, accuracy, and language use. Penalties of up to 5 marks can be applied for issues like touching sensitive topics or going over/under the time limits.
