This document evaluates the impact of virtual reality (VR) training on workers' competencies in the mining industry, focusing on actual training needs, real-world constraints, and the capabilities of VR-based training. The study employs a variety of methodologies, including interviews with subject matter experts and past trainees, to assess the effectiveness of training sessions and the potential for VR to enhance real-world training. Preliminary findings suggest improved training outcomes and a better understanding of the gaps between training challenges and simulation capabilities, ultimately aiding in the development and investment in more effective training programs.
