Mast Head Drafts
Pros – unique, interesting, edgy,
goes against the posh clean cut look
by looking eroded.
Cons – could un attract some
audience, isn’t clear.
AMPros – nice looking, clear letters.
Cons – bit plain, nothing special about it, not very bold.
AMPros – clear, simple, bold, stands
out.
Cons – might attract the wrong audience ( eg older audience
), doesn’t look like a font that really belongs on a music
magazine.

Audience Feedback
My audience feedback was extremely useful as I was torn
between my first and last masthead draft idea and the
feedback made me make a good decision.
For my first masthead draft I got a lot of positive feedback
from my audience which is great as they are part of the
age range id be selling my magazine to. They particularly
liked the way the font was slightly eroded as it was
different to all other standard fonts so would definitely
stand out on the page and is also quite eye catching.
For my second masthead draft I didn’t have a lot of
positive feedback which I was expecting anyway, my
audience confirmed the fact it was not very bold, but also
said it was just a weird font any they wouldn’t buy my
magazine based on that fact alone as you can tell a lot
about a magazine just by their masthead.
For my third masthead draft I got both positive and
negative feedback, they agreed it was bold and stood out
but that didn’t make it excitingly eye catching which is
what it lacked, excitement and creativity.
The feedback, both positive and negative, helped me make
my decision to use my first masthead draft idea as my
official masthead which I am pleased with.
