- 1. th Math Requirements: 8 Grade HOMEWORK: Homework will be given every day. All calculations must be done in pencil, and students must show their work. Students receive a 100 point homework grade at the beginning of each trimester. A missed or incomplete homework assignment results in a five point reduction of the homework grade. The homework grade is 5% of the trimester grade. NOTEBOOK: Students are required to keep a math notebook which consists of daily notes, sample problems, homework, and quizzes. In addition, students are required to keep track of all test and quiz grades, as well as missed homework, on a grade grid, which is an up-to-date record of the student’s progress. This must be kept in the front of the notebook. Notebooks will be grade periodically on organization, completeness, neatness, corrections made, and calculations done in pencil. The notebook counts as 5% of the grade for the trimester. TESTS AND QUIZZES: There will be at least one quiz and one test on each chapter. Test grades count as 60% of the trimester grade, and quiz grades count as 30% of the trimester grade. MIDTERM AND FINAL: The midterm and final exams each count 12.5% of the final year-end grade.
