This document summarizes a study on using maturity methods to evaluate the strength of high performance concrete (HPC) bridge decks. Six bridge decks with different mix designs were instrumented to monitor temperature and calculate maturity indexes. In the laboratory, maturity-strength relationships were developed for each mix. The results showed that maturity methods can provide quality control for HPC bridge decks by more frequently assessing strength than traditional testing methods. However, the relationships may need to be customized for each unique HPC mix design.
