The Global Learning Hub

1 Interactive: Teachers and students create their own content (producers vs consumers)
and interact with social media to express their identity and creativity.

2 Student-Centered: Shifts the learning responsibility to the student (who owns the
  learning?)

3 Authentic: Use of social media/technology should be connected to specific learning goals
  and activities (relevance)

4 Collaborative: Learning is a social activity, and many students learn best through
working with a group of peers. (virtual or face to face environment)

5 On-Demand: Course content should be made available “on-demand” (like everything
else in today’s world) so students and staff can learn when, where, and how they want
from a computer, mobile phone or other handheld devices.

6 Global Competencies/Networking: The world is indeed flat...we must run our schools
  that way.

‘Risk taking’ is among the qualities found in exemplary
          leaders identified by Howard Gardner.
                        He writes:

‘The capacity to take risks speaks to a confidence
that one will at least sometimes attain success.’ They
must also accept the fact that they might fail. This is
why heads are possibly reluctant to take risks. They
are accountable to so many stakeholders, who do not
                readily accept failure.
