This document provides instructions for making a paper airplane in 8 steps. It begins with selecting an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper and making an initial lengthwise fold. - 2. Step One: Find A Piece Of Paper • 8 x 11 works best!
- 3. Step Two: First Fold • Fold in half lengthwise, “hot-dog style” • Make fold as crisp as possible • Match up corners • Re-open when completed • You now have a middle crease
- 4. Step Three: Dog Ear Fold • Grab the top right corner of paper • Fold it to that it is lined up along the middle crease from the first fold • Crease Dog Ear fold • Repeat with left corner • You should now have a pentagon
- 5. Step Four: Narrowing Fold • Locate the 45-degree-angle corners formed by the dog eared folds • Fold those in to meet the middle crease, in a similar manner to the Dog Ear fold
- 6. Step Five: Symmetry Fold • Fold the plane in half across the line of symmetry (also known as the middle crease)
- 7. Step Six: Wing Fold • Create a wing fold along the dotted line (see diagram) • Leave about an inch and a half for the nose
- 8. Step Seven: Final Fold • Open wings to a 90 degree angle with the body of the plane as shown • Optional Step: Slightly fold edges of wings up for extra lift
