- 1. • Giving is an act of worship • Giving is an attitude • Giving is reverence to GOD
- 2. 2 Cor 8: 7: But just as you excel in everything — in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us — see that you also excel in this grace of giving. Don’t limit ourselves in particular thing. Give our body, heart, time, talent and money
- 3. GIVING IN EVERYTHING • GIVE OUR BODY • God is concern for both our body and our soul. 3 John:V: 2: • Rom 12:1: So Keep our body healthy and disciplined so that we can be available for God’s service at all the time.
- 4. • GIVE OUR HEART • 1 John 5:9-12 God's testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God. • God started to live in our heart. • 1 Kings 8:27: The God of universe takes up residence in his people. GIVING IN EVERYTHING
- 5. • GIVE OUR TIME • John :4:4-26: The Samaritan woman was willing to spend time with Jesus and got saved. • Luke:10:38-42: God is asking us to set our priorities in spending our time. GIVING IN EVERYTHING
- 6. GIVE OUR TALENTS John 6:1-13 If we offer nothing to God, He will have nothing to use. Whatever we have let us bring it to God. Whether it is small or big, let us give it to God. God will break it and multiply it and use it. GIVING IN EVERYTHING
- 7. GIVE OUR MONEY 2 Cor 8:8-9: Giving is a natural response of love. Deut 14:22-23: Through giving we learn to revere our God always We are to give the first and the best of what we earn. It also reminds us all we have belongs to Him. John 3:27: GIVING IN EVERYTHING
- 8. • A. PROPOTIONATELY: • Deut 16:16-17: Look at what we have and give in proportion what we have been given. • B. SECRETLY: • Matt 6:1-4: our motives for giving to God and others must be pure. • C. SACRIFICIALLY • 2 Cor 8:2-5: The point of giving is not so much the amount we give, but why and how we give. - 10. GIVING IN EVERYTHING • CONCLUSION: • Mal 3:8-12: The warning is for the robbers of God’s money , the backslidden people. And the blessing is for the people giving in response of love.
- 11. GIVING IN EVERYTHING • POINTS TO PONDER: • Why should we give? • 1. Because we love Christ - (2 Cor 5:14-17) • 2. Giving to God brings joy to Us - (2 Cor 8:2). • 3. Stretches us in giving increases our faith (2 corinthians:8:3). • 4. Giving proves the sincerity of our love (2 corinthians:8:8,24). • 5. God loves the Cheerful Giver (2 corinthians:9:7).
