This document compares the performance efficiency of two Internet of Things (IoT) protocols: Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT) and Lightweight Machine-to-Machine (LwM2M). Experimental results indicate that LwM2M outperformed MQTT by approximately 69% under scenarios of initial connection and data transfer. The study emphasizes the effectiveness of LwM2M in resource-constrained environments, with a focus on optimizing data transmission and power consumption.
