graded and arranged in a natural
order.
The teacher in her methods should
appeal through sense perception to
the understanding of the child.
INTRODUCTION
Education must be for the child &
must be adapted to the needs &
requirements of the child as he
grows.
Progressive methods of teaching
provide suitable opportunities for
learning, for experimentation &
co-operation.
INTRODUCTION
Good methods can result only from
the following up of broad
principles, e.g. orderly arranging
procedure in teaching, arrangement
of subject method which will avoid
waste of time & energy.

DEFINITION
The method of teaching is in which
approaches must likely to method of
investigation. ( scientific means of answering a
question.)

OBJECTIVES OF METHODS OF
TEACHING
1. Aim at developing “Love for Work”
2. Inculcated the desire to do work with
maximum efficiency which one is
capable of.
3. Develops the capacity for clear thinking.

4. Provides adequate opportunity for
participation in freely accepted projects &
activities in which cooperation & discipline
are constantly in demand.
5. Expand students interest.

practically the knowledge & skills acquired
by them.
7. They should adapt to 3 A’s –age, ability,
aptitude of student.
8.Eagerness of inspectorate.

Methods should be suited to:
1. The objectives & the content of the course.
2. The capacity of the student.
3. Teacher’s personality.
4. Creative use.
5. Psychologically sound.
CHARACTERISTICS OF METHODS OF
TEACHING
1. Imparting knowledge in an efficient manner.
2. Inculcate desirable values & proper attitudes &
habits of work in the student.
3. Create a genuine attachment to work & a
desire to do it as effectively, honestly &
thoroughly as possible.

4.The principle of verbalism & memorization
activity & project method should be assimilated in
place.
5. Provide opportunities for students to learn
actively and to apply practically the knowledge
that they have acquired in class room.

6. Clear thinking & expression both in speech &
writing takes place.
7. Train the learners in the techniques of study,
methods of acquiring knowledge through
personal effort & initiate.
8. A well thought-out attempt should be made to
adopt methods of instruction in order to benefit
all categories of students.
