This document discusses the use of a Shimadzu UV-2600 UV-Vis spectrophotometer connected to an optical microscope for the accurate characterization of small optical components, such as filters measuring 1–2 mm in width. It highlights the challenges and solutions involved in achieving high-quality spectral scans for miniaturized materials, including adjustments to the optical setup to maintain light throughput. The results demonstrate effective analysis capabilities of the setup, indicating its potential for routine characterization of very small samples.
