Mind mapping is a visual thinking tool that uses diagrams, words, images and colors to organize and structure information radiating out from a central concept. It aids in brainstorming, note-taking, problem-solving, presenting information and studying by showing the relationships between ideas. When creating mind maps, single words and phrases should be used with color and symbols to separate concepts and make the information easy to comprehend.
