MISR_VIEW 4.2 is a software tool developed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory that allows users to access, manipulate, and visualize NASA's Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR) satellite data products in HDF-EOS "grid" format. The software works on both UNIX and Windows systems and is compatible with later versions of the Interactive Data Language (IDL). MISR_VIEW and documentation are available for free download on the NASA website.

MISR HDF-EOS Grid Products ● Georectified Radiance Product (GRP) – – ● 275m and 1100m resolutions Ancillary Geographic Product (AGP) – – ● Ellipsoid- and terrain-projected R/G/B/NIR 14-bit radiance data Contains latitude/longitude/elevation grids at 1100m resolution Required by misr_view for certain functionality (window linking, reprojections) Other products include solar/camera azimuth/zenith angles, aerosol, and top-of-cloud data

Using MISR_VIEW ● Place all software in single directory ● Make sure directory containing software is current directory ● Have catalog ready, if necessary ● ● Keep track of path/orbit information if using a catalog containing data from more than one path/orbit Catalog is simply an ASCII file listing - fully qualified file names – no spaces in directory names (e.g., “C:My DataFilename”) – file names can be listed in any order
