Case Study: Traffic & Transportation Base Model for South Mumbai Redevelopment Solution Client Mumbai Transformation Support Unit and Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai Project delivery period - 2012 Medulla Soft conducted detailed surveys and developed a micro- simulation base model of the area stretching from Metro Cinema and CST station to Regal Chowk and Nariman Point in South Mumbai. Study focus included pedestrian infrastructure, potential parking lot locations, pedestrianization initiatives, route optimization, road closing etc. The base model is also being used to evaluate the performance of a number of proposals for redevelopment of the area. Case Study: Network and Corridor Level Solutions Infrastructure Development Options and Configuration Analysis for Corridor Improvement Solution Client Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Project delivery period - 2011 Medulla Soft conducted developed a micro and 3D simulation model of the important western traffic corridor which includes the Bandra Worli Sea Link as well as the Haji Ali and Cadbury Junctions. We helped the Empowered Committe of Mumbai to evaluate and review the performance of a number of infrastructural interventions, including flyovers and pedestrian walkways with different on/off ramp configurations and take informed decisions on the way forward. Case Study: Transit BRT design evaluation, operations optimization and testing Solution Client Egis and Bhopal Municipal Corporation Project delivery period - 2010 Medulla Soft modeled the then upcoming Bhopal Bus Rapid Transit system (micro-simulation as well as 3D) and advised on a number of issues including bus stop locations, weaving and merging management, signal optimization, evaluation of Vehicle Actuated Signals and Transit Priority, fleet performance, bottleneck management etc. The analysis received appreciation from Dario Hidalgo, known as the Father of BRT, at the Urban Mobility Conference later that year. Case Study: Real Estate Development Public Parking Lot - Demand and Impact AssessmentSolution Client Piramal Realty and Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai Project delivery period - 2013 As empaneled consultants with the MCGM, MST was engaged in by Piramal Realty for a detailed Parking Demand Assessment and future Traffic Impact Assessment for their upcoming 50+ story residential development adjoining the Mumbai Zoo and having a multi level public parking lot. The analysis included simulation modelling as well as probabilistic analysis and projection for future parking demand based on comprehensive surveys. Project Description

Case Study: Sustainability Pedestrianization around Art Gallery and Museum Area Client Mumbai Traffic Police and Mumbai Transformation Support Unit Project delivery period - 2013 MST was engaged to evaluate and optimize an option for creation of a pedestrian only area near the Jehangir Art Gallery and National Gallery of Modern Art at Regal Chowk in Mumbai. This included adaptation of existing Regal Circle into a larger traffic circle around the pedestrianized area. Introduction of new signals, traffic rerouting, changes in existing phases,modified bus movement, drop off area design and traffic performance were scrutinized as part of the study. Case Study: Pedestrian Evacuation Planning Disaster Management Simulation FrameworkSolution Client Disaster Management Cell Project delivery period - 2013 A detailed analysis of evacuation performance of a critical public building was conducted. This involved faithful replication of the building in a simulation framework, evaluation of multiple scenarios and identification of design and operational issues. MST was able to develop an evacuation protocol with non structural design changes and minor operational changes to achieve a 30% reduction in overall evacuation time. Project Description

Case Study: 3D VR Simulated Environments Interactive 3D Virtual Reality Simulated Environments for Training & Communication Solution Client Konkan Rail & Northern Railways Project delivery period - 2010 Medulla Soft developed an interactive 3D Virtual Reality Simulated Environments of the Chenab Rail Bridge, the highest in the world, in the inaccessible terrain near Reasi in Jammu & Kashmir. The project work involved integration of high fidelity terrain data from the National Remote Sensing Agency and visualization of the various stages in bridge construction for training and communication purposes.
