Multiple Intelligence




What to make of all of this? I say, pay one's respect to school and to
IQ tests, but do not let them dictate one's judgment about an
individual's worth or potential. In the end, what is important is an
individual's actual achievements in the realms of work and personal life.

What is intelligence?

        "An intelligence is the ability to
        solve problems, or to create
        products, that are valued within
        one or more cultural settings.”
According to Howard Gardner 7 different
   kinds of intelligence are display by
                 humans.
Perhaps we should no longer ask
         How smart we are?

Linguistic
Description:
words and language, written and spoken;
retention, interpretation and explanation of ideas and
information via language, understands relationship
between communication and meaning.
 typical roles: writers, speakers, English teachers, TV
and radio presenters.
Famous people: Bill Clinton, J.K.Rowling
Logical-Mathematical
Description: logical thinking, detecting
patterns, scientific reasoning and deduction; analyze
problems, perform mathematical
calculations, understands relationship between cause
and effect towards a tangible outcome or result.
Typical roles: scientists, engineers, computer
experts, accountants, statisticians, researchers.
Famous People: Rosalind Franklin, Albert Einstein
Musical
Description: musical ability, awareness, appreciation
and use of sound; recognition of tonal and rhythmic
patterns, understands relationship between sound
and feeling.
Typical roles:
musicians, singers, composers, DJ's, music producers.
Famous people: Paul McCartney, Mozart, Zakir Hussain
Bodily-Kinesthetic
Description: body movement control, manual
dexterity, physical agility and balance; eye and body
coordination.
Typical roles:
dancers, demonstrators, actors, athletes, divers, sports
-people, soldiers, fire-fighters.
Famous People: El chicharito
Spatial-Visual
Description: visual and spatial perception;
interpretation and creation of visual images; pictorial
imagination and expression; understands relationship
between images and meanings, and between space
and effect

Typical roles: artists, designers, cartoonists, story-
boarders, architects, photographers, sculptors

Disney
Interpersonal
Description: perception of other people's feelings; ability to
relate to others; interpretation of behavior and
communications; understands the relationships between
people and their situations, including other people.

Typical roles: Therapists, HR
professionals, mediators, leaders, counselors, educators, sal
es-people, psychologists.

Intrapersonal
Description: self-awareness, personal objectivity, the
capability to understand oneself, one's relationship to
others and the world, and one's own need for, and
reaction to change
Goals: self-reflection, self-discovery
