1 A 2Ɨ3 factorial MANOVA was used to determine the effect of Treatment (Meds, Psychotheraphy and
Placebo) and gender (Male and Female) on symptomatic improvement (measured by indexes of both
worry and general emotion). Significant effect of treatment was found on combined dependent
variables, F(4, 186)=10.270, p<0.001; Wilks’ Ī›=0.671
2 One way MANOVA was conducted to determine the effect of Treatment (Meds, Psychotherapy
and Placebo) on symptomatic improvement (measured by indexes of both worry and general emotion) for
both male and female. Post Hoc result for male shows that average index of worry for meds (M=26.68,
sd=7.38) is significantly lower than that of psychotherapy (M=41.75, sd=7.26), p<0.001. Similarly,
average index of worry for meds (M=26.68, sd=7.38) is significantly lower than that of placebo
(M=40.66, sd=1.69), p=0.012. Average index of worry for placebo (M=40.66, sd=1.69) is not significantly
lower than that of psychotherapy (M=41.75, sd=7.26),p=0.914. On the other hand, average index of
Emotion for meds (M=27.70, sd=9.86) is significantly lower than that of psychotherapy (M=46.33,
sd=8.73), p<0.001. Average index of emotion for meds (M=27.70, sd=9.86) is significantly lower than that
of placebo (M=45.59, sd=1.65), p=0.011. Average index of worry for placebo (M=45.59, sd=1.65) is lower
than that of psychotherapy (M=46.33, sd=8.73), but not significant p=0.914. This result shows that Meds
has the lowest score for both index of emotion and worry. Thus, Meds is the most effective
treatment for males.

3 One way MANOVA was conducted to determine the effect of Treatment (Meds, Psychotherapy and
Placebo) on symptomatic improvement (measured by indexes of both worry and general emotion) for both
male and female. Post Hoc result for female shows that average index of worry for meds (M=26.61, sd=8.31) is
significantly lower than that of psychotherapy (M=33.85, sd=6.33), p=0.012. Similarly, average index of
worry for meds (M=26.61, sd=8.31) is significantly lower than that of placebo (M=38.83, sd=4.97),
p<0.001. average index of worry for psychotherapy (M=33.85, sd=6.33) is significantly lower than that
of placebo (M=38.83, sd=4.97),p=0.023. On the other hand, average index
of Emotion for meds (M=14.03, sd=8.5) is lower than that of psychotherapy (M=17.07, sd=6.71) but not
significant, p=0.398. Conversely, average index of emotion for meds (M=14.03, sd=8.5) is significantly lower
than that of placebo (M=20.31, sd=7.5), p<0.04. Average index of worry for psychotherapy (M=17.07,
sd=6.71) is lower than that of placebo (M=20.31, sd=7.5), but not significant p=0.239. This result shows that
Meds has the lowest score for both index of emotion and worry. Thus, Meds is the most effective treatment for
females.
