Goodwin’s theory (6 key features) • Genre characteristics: The video relates well to the generic dance genre, there are many girls dressed in shorts, crop tops and bikinis, they are always moving and dancing around to the beat of the music. Sigma usually films in exotic places (sunny) where this video conforms to this. • Relationship between lyrics and visuals: There is no real connection between the lyrics and visuals as the song is about loving with no body to love. However, the visuals always show two or more people together dancing and looking happy. There is no real story line to the visuals other than the fact the girls that are travelling together are just getting away from the fact they are maybe loving with no body to love. • Relationship between music and visuals: The music and visuals conform well together. When the music is slower, the visuals are in slow motion however as there is still a beat the characters are still moving and dancing but in slow motion. When the music speeds up and the beat almost drops, the video switches between real time and slow motion, again the characters are always dancing around to the beat of the music. • Close ups: There are not many close ups through out the video of the girls faces however, they focus on more sentimental things such as the girls holding hands or their feet where they are doing the same dance, this helps to set the feel that the girls are extremely close to one another. • Reference of notice and looking: As this music video is shot outside there is no reference of notice and looking. • Intertextual reference: This music video does not have any other reference to other media aspects such as film.
- 3. Goodwin’s Theory (5 key aspects) Thought Beats This song by Sigma conforms to their usual sound and mode of song, the music and song usually start off with a low tempo which builds up. Sigma does not always use the same vocalist in all of their songs and therefore this makes it harder to distinguish who is actually singing. There is one singer throughout the music video which is common in sigma songs. The song tells us a story throughout the music video which relates to the visuals. The singer sings about how one is tired of loving with no body to love, this is the general theme of the song throughout and we can see that the girls in the music video have each other to rely on.

Narrative And Performance The visuals in this video fit well with the lyrics, they clearly show that the people that star are getting away from their problems and enjoying life without any problems. The dancing and other activities such as driving and playing with a beach ball all fit in time with the lyrics where when the lyrics are slower, the dancing etc.. Is slower and when the lyrics are sung faster the dancing becomes faster.

Star Image No main star appears in this video for example, Sigma does not feature however, the two girls that do feature are shown in almost every single shot where the audience can begin to relate with them throughout the music video. There are shots where other people appear however the video focuses mainly on the two girls that are escaping from their problems.
- 6. Relation of visuals to the song The visuals illustrate the lyrics to an extent and therefore they conform well to the choreography of the dancing throughout the video. There could be more relation to loving with no body to love such as featuring a man that the girls were once in love with.
- 7. Technical aspects The editing pace fits well with the sound and tempo speeding up when the tempo speeds up and slowing down when the tempo slows down. Different camera angles and shots are used such as close ups and low angle shots to make the featured dancers seem powerful. Many different locations are used such as the beach in the day time and at night. This helps to create a happy feeling which allows the audience to relate with the stars of the video and almost allows them to escape from every day problems. The colours used are bright which again sets a happy mood and makes it interesting for the audience to watch.
