PRODUCTION

FILMING
Initially, in regards towards the technical aspects used throughout my music video, they all worked efficiently
and effectively, all of which held up with not faults to imperfect their use. Furthermore under this category, all
potential problems which could have appeared in any given location and time that was necessary, whether
that comes under the equipment used or location defects, was avoided; and so evidently this process
(primarily the filming phase) was without of doubt a smooth, free flowing production of which very greatly
benefitted the end product produced in this project.
Next, in regards towards the logistical aspects (locations) that had been used throughout my music video,
once again no significant issues had occurred in this process, all of which displayed a consistent and very
beneficial portrayal in their use. Even Though no significant issues did appear in predominantly the filming
phase, when visiting and using these constructive locations, a dilemma that did show up comes under the
weather, as for it was primarily lightly raining in all of these different scenes. This may seem as a
complication, increasing the chances of other possible risks such as slipping and or damaging the
equipment used, but it more or less came convenient towards the music video i was portraying; this is
primarily because the rain adds more threatening connotations to my work, whilst further engaging my
audience, of which is absolutely necessary in portraying a sinister atmosphere and supporting the narrative
that is consistent about mental health issues throughout. In conclusion, the issues that did up hear
throughout the filming phase predominantly, actually came in useful rather than being more of a complication
towards this stage of the project; apart from the rain making myself cold, of which evidently increases the
overall chances of risks from occurring, no significant changes and potentially problems which may
significantly alter the form of the end product did occur.
Furthermore, in regards towards the personnel aspects within my music video, this predominantly being my
cast/crew, this was unachievable; this is primarily because the whole crew/cast of whom have produced this
music video was myself. This excludes this component, and coming forth to the end of the project, was
actually more beneficial than expect; this was mainly because not expectations from anyone else was
EDITING
• Record your edit progress, decisions, problems, etc. in
this section
• Include screenshots with annotations, statements, etc.
• Try to explain how you worked and justify why you chose
to work the way you did.
• Follow the structure and what to include on each slide as
this is necessary for evidence for assessment
EDITING –
SETTING UP PREMIERE
Initially, as displayed through the diagram present beside, you are to select ‘file’, along the tab
across the top, and then ‘new’; this here will create a new project in Adobe Premiere Pro, of which
from this stage is the beginning of creating your project. Before selecting to create the project, it
intends on saving this file under a name; under this current screen I had saved it under the
presumed title of my music video, this consisting of ‘In My Mind’; it is important to recognize here
that you have to save this document under a clearly relatable and recognizable name, otherwise it
may be difficult to find of which would effect the total amount of allotted time, evidently meaning the
progress of your music video is once again reduced.
Next, as once again displayed through the present image beside, you are to set up your timeline;
this is otherwise known as importing your footage, and is the key source to beginning producing
your product in the editing phase. Firstly, you are needing to ensure you are allocated in the
‘assembly’ section on Premiere Pro; this is quite self explanatory as for this is where you allocate
the different sections of your timeline the footage you intend to use here. Once on the desired page,
‘click’ on the large rectangle to the far right of your screen, this will bring up your file finder, of which
you select all of you footage and import it onto the software. From this point, having already
imported the footage, simply drag and drop your recordings to the desired location on your timeline
of which you want them to be. This concludes the process of setting up your Adobe Premiere Pro
project.
EDITING –
IMPORTING FOOTAGE
This aspect, as part of initially setting up your Premiere project, may seem very simple;
however, this is not the case in the portrayal of beginners to this software. Firstly, as your new
project opens up, you need to ensure that across the top tab you are located across the
‘assembly’ page, this is the first essential part in importing your footage across and into the
software. Next, it is important to recognize that a large rectangle, covering the majority of the
left side of the page, is situated here, and therefore to import the footage that is required you
must double ‘click’ on this coverage area; this evidently brings up your file finder, of which
from here you select the files necessary for your project and click ‘import’ to transfer them
over.

WORKSPACE
Preview Window - Initially, and one of the most important aspects to the Adobe Premiere Pro
software comes under the preview window; this here feature allows the work that you have
produced across the work timeline in a preview state. This aspect helps evoke your ideas across
into the work you evidently produce; furthermore, this also helps define the issues and problems
within you work alongside, of which obviously benefits the whole project and end product produced.
Timeline - Furthermore, this is another essential component in helping produce an amazing end
product to the project. Initially, it is important to recognize that this aspect is where you primarily put
together all of your previously gathered footage and add other key components to your work,
whether that's video effects, transitions, and or color correction, all of which help engage and
portray you video effectively against your peers.
Playback Window - Next, this other feature that is clearly present through predominantly having a
large rectangular video preview, covering once again the majority of the page, across all of the
different section available in the software, comes under the playback window feature. This is
extremely beneficial in monitoring the current state of what you are producing across the software;
it's helpful in generating new ideas, and also identifying issues that may be present within it, of
which evidently helps produce an outstanding end product.
Toolbar - This is an essential aspect for when your changing components within the footage that
has already be acquired and imported into your new, fresh project on the software. Initially, it is
important to recognize that without the toolbar that is accustomed to us, we would be unable to
produce a good product; this is primarily because no editing features, cutting to the shots,
movement effects etc, all of which are necessary to begin the editing phase and start altering
different components on the footage that had been imported previously.
EDITING –
ASSEMBLY EDIT
Show how you put together your basic sequence in the order you want it – previewing clips, dragging to the timeline, trimming/cutting, etc
Initially, it is present that primarily during the editing phase, of which I begin and finish the
construction of my music video, a large range of different techniques, tools, and effect is displayed.
Predominantly the main aspects under this category consist of:
Preview Window - One of the most important aspects to the Adobe Premiere Pro software comes
under the preview window; this here feature allows the work that you have produced across the
work timeline in a preview state. This component was especially effective in helping generate new
ideas and identify issues that may occur during this phase, of which I could then improve and fix.
Timeline - Furthermore, this is another essential component in helping produce an amazing end
product to the project. Initially, it is important to recognize that this aspect is where you primarily put
together all of your previously gathered footage and add other key components to your work; this
here aspect was significantly effective in initially assembling your project together, as for its ease of
use (dragging clips into place) evidently speeded up the process of editing and concluded in an
extension of time the help support the completion of my work.
Cutting/trimming – Finally, another feature of which states an impeccable amount of help toward
my music video, come under the cutting feature. This is displayed across a razor blade in the editing
page, and evidently help trimming your different footage captured to the appropriate and necessary
length of which you want. This is predominantely helpful in enageging the audience more, as for
cutting towards the beat is effective in its presence, whilst also displaying a much more aesthetically
pleasing effect towards the design.
EDITING –
COLOUR CORRECTION/SFX
In regards towards the range of different effects, and or color correction styles that are available
throughout the course of the software (Adobe Premiere Pro), this was evidently used and displayed
throughout the whole music video produced, of which effectively is relevant to the aspect in the
process log.
Initially, it is present that a bunch of different transitions, of which show a modification in the
conversion between the shots throughout the video, had been used effectively; this was
predominantly in hoping to achieve more of an engagement from my audience, through displaying a
more aesthetically pleasing design, and in helping support the atmosphere that is intended in
creating connotations around the main character, mainly conforming under the sinister and
threatening genres. The range of different transitions used in helping convey these present ideals
(sinister/threatening) mainly consisted of solarize in/out, of which displayed a dissolving effect
between the shots, and additive dissolve, of which was predominantly a flashing effect whilst still
portraying the previous shot overlayed for a split second.
