My Biggest Failure And
How I Turned That Into
A Long Term Lesson
Failed Business
• About 6 years I ago I went into business with a dear friend and we created a coaching
company called Emotional Liberation
• Nether of us had any previous experience in business or knew a single thing on how to grow a
business
• We both just had a passion to help as many people as possible
• I personally had very little experience in marketing and I was terrible at sales. Even the idea of
sealing myself terrified me
• We spent hours on creating a website and creating
business cards
• Would spend hours walking the streets handing out
our business cards getting no new clients
• Attempted to run worships but due to lack of funds
we were only able to use Royal Festival Hall which
lacked privacy for clients
• It was the blind leading the blind as nether of us knew
how to get our business message out there
• Decided to get coach but acquired cheapest possible
to cut costs
• I was doing no personal development
• Differences in vision of company
• Not equal effort in growing company
• Arguing over finances
• Parting way with business partner
• I attempted to continue alone
• Paid coaches not at all helpful or experienced
enough
• The business failed as I didn’t know how to grow it
• I became frustrated with the lack of guidance I got from the coaches I hired
• I felt a failure and had beliefs that I couldn’t run a business
• I had to shut down Emotional Liberation
• But my passion to coach didn’t die
• 3 years passed since that failed business
venture but my desire to coach hadn’t gone
• I could have quit on my dream but I decided
to not quit on myself no matter what
• Following years of personal self development
especially around building confidence and
increasing income
• I knew from the friends & colleagues I had
help there was a market for my coaching
• I decided to create a coaching business and
do it alone this time so I founded Wahome
Gitonga Coaching
• I would help people to master their
confidence and increase their income using
my 7 step alchemize strategy that I had used
on myself
Lessons learnt
• I didn’t want to repeat same mistakes as last
time around
• I wanted to surround myself with successful
people and I found an entrepreneur network
academy called Big Business Events owned by
award winning multi-millionaire Adam Stott
• Big Business Events was an academy full of
successful entrepreneurs ranging from
people starting a business to successful
multi-millionaires
• The aim of the academy was everyone helps
each other
• The academy would teach you every aspect
of business through regular events ranging
from social media to sales domination
• Within no time my business knowledge
started to drastically improve and I started
to build new relationships
• I also hired Adam Stott as my coach and
with his head coach Ross Temple I looked to
learn from their success
• I started to see my business grow
exponentially. I was learning everything
from mastering social media, how to create
a compelling offer, how to sell, how
understand your numbers, how to think
strategically and many key business
functions.
• Coaching with Adam helped me to see the
importance of developing a winning
mindset, surround myself with successful
people and investing heavily in myself
• I removed any negative friends out of my
life and ensure that I only surrounded
myself around positive, inspiring,
motivating and successful people
• I also invested considerable time and effort
developing myself outside the coaching by
reading books, listening to podcasts, taking
business courses anything that would feed
my mind with knew information
• Understanding the link between being
healthy and confidence I changed my
lifestyle. I stared to exercise regularly and
eat more healthy which increased my
confidence and gave me more energy
• I ensured that I had a winners mindset so I
never quit on myself, I always finished what
I started, asked for help, cut out
distractions

• I have a steady pool of coaching clients with a
proven strategy to acquire new leads
• I am regularly surrounded by successful people
that help to always grow myself and my business
