The ALA Emerging Leaders program selects early career librarians for leadership development training. It is a highly competitive program that received over 300 applications for 50 spots. Selected participants work in teams on projects for ALA divisions and complete training at the Midwinter and Annual conferences. The program aims to develop new leaders, keep early career librarians involved in the field, and address the aging of the library profession. It provides opportunities to network with ALA leadership and learn skills like effective communication, teamwork, and driving change.
