My second proposal

My new idea was derived from the university student music video to the Black Eyed Peas song ‘I
Gotta Feeling’. Where the whole concept is the camera tracks people who are miming the song
around the university campus. It is a one take project whereas mine will not be one take as I feel
that to do this actors and crew will not be prepared enough to pull it of as best of their ability.

The filming starts with close-ups of different people singing different lines. But goes to a boy (Oba)
walking out from somewhere looking around for something, when he realizes the direction he needs
to go he sings the song and dancing towards to camera. At the line “Come and gimme right dey” it
cuts to 2 little girls (Jada and Tia) dancing and singing the song and at the verse the camera cuts to a
woman walking/dancing and singing the verse, it is a side shot of the girl (Jasmine) and eventually
she stops by where theres a person (Janae) standing leaning against a wall on the phone. At the line
“We gonna feel so right etc.” the camera stays as a side shot and carries on following Janae and at
the line “Feel de riddim jumpin’ in you” the camera pans upward to show the sky, then downwards
to reveal the actor (Oba) who sings the chorus. At the end of his part he walks beside another group
of people (Amara, Riya and Maya) and taps one on the shoulder then walks away as they start to
sing their lines and dance. The camera pans down to a sign that says hatred and when someone
steps on it the camera pans back up to reveal Jasmine, who starts to sing the rest of the verse. At the
line “Everyone you meet, They all feel the same” 2 other actors (Taiyo and Ashley) peep in and sings
the lines but it goes back to Jasmine. Cuts to shot of Janae singing this part, shots could be taken
from various other angles as well. For the next chorus Jasmine and Oba will join in and they all
dance/fight for central attention, but begin to do a routine for the line “Come and gimme, right
dey.” A boy (Rahsaan) pushes through them and sings to the camera, the camera begins to zoom in
so you can only see him. Then it cuts to a high angle shot of a crowd singing “Feel de riddim jumpin’
in you.” Then for the last chorus it cuts to various shots (mid, long, low angle) of the crowd doing a
routine dancing together, singing and enjoying themselves. Then it cuts to Oba, Janae and Jasmine
who sing “Everybody” and gesture that everyone is welcome in. Then back to various shots of the
crowd dancing and singing along with the song. The last bit with the outro there I would like shots of
individuals doing a freestyle move for up to 4-8 beats each, then the last shot of all of the main cast
dancing linking shoulders together. Fade to black and give thanks to Carnival Village
members/community.
