Raymond Velazquez discusses his life growing up in Oceanside, California. He works at Lowes and finds jobs difficult to come by locally. Compared to his grandparents' life, Raymond can communicate globally through technology but lacks strong family bonds over meals. Raymond has traveled to Alaska to visit his brother in the military and to Idaho and Oklahoma to see other family members. He feels he learned the most from visiting Mexico and observing the strong family values and cultural history despite economic hardships. Raymond realizes that while he owns a Toyota truck, most of his possessions like his phone, clothes, shoes and glasses were made in other countries like Korea, China, Mexico and Taiwan.
