This document discusses different types of narrative structures that can be used in music videos. It describes linear narratives as following a single chronological storyline, while non-linear narratives disrupt chronology by incorporating references to the past and future. Equilibrium and disequilibrium refer to narratives following a circular structure of an initial stable state, a disruption, an attempt to resolve it, and a new resolved state. Binary opposites, multi-stranded narratives, and parallel narratives are also discussed as narrative techniques, along with brief music video examples of each.
