This document provides instructions for navigating student account information in Wolverine Access. It explains how to access the account summary, view pending financial aid, and determine charges owed by subtracting pending aid from total charges. It also describes how to read the student account statement, understand billed charges and pending aid, and determine any refunds owed if aid exceeds charges.

- 2. Navigating to U-M Account Information Go to Wolverine Access > Student Services Center – then scroll down until you see the Finances Heading
- 3. Quick Summary View A summary of charges on your account is located under the Account Summary portion of the Student Services Center page Your financial aid has not been applied to this amount – to view your pending aid you must click on the provided link
- 4. Pending Aid Pending Financial Aid will show the financial aid that is ready to be applied to your account charges This may not list an outside scholarship, departmental award or private loan
- 5. Pending Aid To determine how much you must pay, you will need to subtract the amount of your pending aid from your charges assessed as shown below $ 7,322.19 - 12,499.00 $ 5,176.81 This student has more financial aid than he does billed charges and will be receiving a refund to help cover his off-campus living expenses and his books
- 6. Navigating to U-M Account Information Go to Wolverine Access > Student Services Center – then scroll down to Account Inquiry OR go to Wolverine Access and type in “Account Inquiry” in the Search box

Reading the U-M Student Account Statement (Bill) The UM Student Account Statement (Billing Statement) is found on Account Inquiry > Charges Due tab The Summary of Charges by Due Date for the first Fall Semester will not yet reflect your To view the Financial Aid impact of financial aid, select the actual invoice from the list
- 8. Understanding the Invoice The top of the statement lists unpaid charges - it will include items such as tuition, fees and possibly dorm room/board IMPORTANT: The billing invoice will not change as adjustments are made to your account. It is not “real time” so may not reflect any recent changes!
- 9. Understanding the Invoice The bottom of the statement lists Pending Aid - remember that some scholarships, departmental aid, and private loan funds may not yet be listed. To determine what you need to pay, subtract your Pending Aid from your Amount Due IMPORTANT: The billing invoice will not change as adjustments are made to your account. It is not “real time” so may not reflect any recent changes!
