Crowdsourced election monitoring in Mexico in 30 days:
A team of activists and technologists came together on Twitter to launch Cuidemos el Voto, a platform to crowdsource election monitoring reports from citizens and observers. They trained local NGOs on the platform's use and engaged bloggers/influencers to spread the word. On election day, reports of issues like vote buying, coercion, and violence were posted and reviewed before being mapped. Over 11,000 people visited the site, and future plans include expanding monitoring to local Puebla elections with partner organizations.
