What is Net Impact? Structure :  A central office in San Francisco supports local chapters around the globe and manages programs designed to inspire and equip members to use the power of business to improve the world.  Net Impact is a 501c3.  Size :  Network of over 125 chapters and 10,000 members Chapters in top 30 U.S. MBA programs  23 major cities with professional chapters 24 international chapters What We Do: Facilitate a network through web tools and our chapter structure Provide resources to find a career that combines business and social impact Offer education on relevant issues and MBA curriculum change  Provide service opportunities that use business skills to help the community Run an annual conference with over 1,200 in attendance Support chapters to hold local events and networking opportunities Net Impact is a network of new leaders who are committed  to using the power of business to improve the world
Net Impact history 1993 Founded by group of MBA students as Students for  Responsible Business 1994 Membership quadruples in first year to 550 members Net Impact becomes independent nonprofit organization 2004 Net Impact grows to 125 chapters 2006 Ten-year anniversary conference held in Washington, D.C. First professional chapter launched in San Francisco 2001 Service Corps program launched 2002 1999 Name changed from SRB to Net Impact Net Impact becomes program of Business for Social Responsibility 1996 Membership reaches 1,000 Conference surpasses 1,400 participants Net Impact launches new member programs for career, community service, campus greening, and curriculum

Chapters are independent groups associated with Net Impact Chapters agree to follow Net Impact’s mission, as well as general guidelines such as Monthly communication 4 events / year Event mix Chapters report back to Net Impact once or twice a year and are designated as 1 st  Year, Associate, Silver, and Gold. Why join Net Impact Net Impact has four membership levels: Student membership: $25 / year International Student membership: $15/year Professional membership: $50 / year International Professional: $25/year Lifetime membership: $350 one-time fee Newsletter membership: free, includes newsletter only Why does Net Impact charge dues? To support our member programming and organization Some activities are hard to fund through philanthropy (e.g. career services) Member dues are a more sustainable/reliable source of funding than philanthropy In 2005, member and chapter dues represented 11% of our revenue; goal is to raise this to 19% by 2008 To make membership more significant  We believe annual dues shows an investment and commitment to the organization Studies show people believe ‘they get what they pay for’ Why should members pay dues ?
