- 4. October 23rd, 1963 is the establishment day of HMT pinjore. Prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru declared open the 3rd unit of HMT factory at Pinjore. Situated 22 kms away from Chandigarh on the national highway linking Shimla & Delhi. The factory is spread over an area of approx. 900 acres, generously gifted by the govt. of Punjab. - 6. FOUNDRY SHOP There is well-equipped and modernized foundry running in HMT. There are 3 electric furnaces working in the foundry. All the requirements of tractor division and machine tool division are fulfilled by this foundry.
- 7. Light Machine Shop (LMS) All the light parts of tractors such as differential housing, power take off shafts, splined shafts, gears, rear wheel driving hubs, portal shafts, main transmission shafts etc. are machined here.
- 8. Heavy Machine Shop (HMS) In this section, all the heavy parts of the tractor are machined. Gearbox housing, main transmission housing, front cover, hydraulic lift, etc. are machined here.
