Soccer Robot
Robo Soccer is one of the exhibits in the “Sports-o-Mania” gallery
of upcoming Roboseum – India’s First Robotics Museum at
Science City, Ahmedabad. The soccer robots will be playing soccer
match in team of 6 vs 6. Computer vision will be used recognize
individual players of each teams and their location and plan the
strategy for the game using algorithms. The soccer robots have
kicking as well as dribbling ability using kicker and dribbler
mechanism respectively.
Contributions:
• Mechanical Design of Soccer Robot Prototype 1 using
Solidworks
• Motor Selection Calculations
• Fabrication of 1st Prototype and Assembly
• Testing
• Mechanical Design of Soccer Robot Prototype 2 to make it
compact and children friendly look wise as per the suggestions
from our client.

Canvas Stand for Painter Robot
Painter Robot is one of the exhibits of upcoming Roboseum. Painter Robot is a Robotic Arm which captures photos of
visitors and sketches their face on canvas board. For this entire procedure to work without minimal human input, it
was required that the canvas would refill automatically once a paint is completed and it is pulled out. Design of
Canvas Stand is such that once the previous canvas board is pulled out using the 3d printed sliding mechanism, next
Canvas Board will automatically come upward due to the force of the springs.
Contributions:
• Design modification to reduce the cost of manufacturing the Canvas Stand
• Material purchasing and Assembly and Testing
• Designed 3d printed slider for visitor to pull out the Canvas Board once the painting is completed.

3D Printed Casing for Crash Protection of MarvelMind Indoor Navigation Unit
MarvelMind is an indoor navigation and positioning system. It
has number of beacons installed on the various positions across
the room and one beacon installed on the object to be
monitored. In our case the beacon was installed in the drone
which will be used as Agriculture Drone in one of the exhibits
in the Roboseum. The beacon set is very fragile and expensive
and during the initial testing the drone with the positioning
system there were lots of crashes. So the protect the beacon
from breaking on impact, I designed this cover.
Contributions:
• Design of 3D printed design of casing in Solidworks

Robo Orchestra (InMoov)
Inmoov is the first open source 3D printed life size robot.
It is constructed from 3D printable plastic components,
and controlled by Arduino microcontrollers. It is
developed by French Sculptor and Engineer Gael
Langevin in September 2011. The Inmoov is used in Robo
Orchestra as Trumpeter, Drummer and Piano player in the
exhibit – Robo Natya Mandap and as Robonaut in exhibit
– Space Robots in Roboseum.
Contribution:
• 3D Printed the components of Inmoov
• Assembled and finished the components together.

Robo Fight
Robo Fight is an exhibit is Roboseum where two small Fighter Robots will be playing Fighting Match 1 vs 1
in designated area of 2.5m x 2.5m. Computer vision will be used to determine orientation and positions of
two robots utilizing overhead cameras.
Contributions:
• Assembly and Testing of DAGU and Robotis GP Robots
3D Robo Scanner
Suction based Wall Climbing robot is one of the five types of wall
climbing robots in the Botulity (Robot-Utility) gallery in Roboseum.
This Robot uses pneumatics to generate suction using suction
pumps to hold onto the glass surface. It used rack and pinion
mechanism for the movement of the robots. This robot used 3D
printed plastic components along with hem bearing. This robot is
controlled by Arduino Microcontroller.
Contributions:
• Programmed the Arduino to test the movement of the robot
• Modified the design of suction cup clamps
Suction Based Wall Climbing Robot
3D Robo Scanner is one of the exhibits in Roboseum. Visitor sits on a
rotating seat and scanner camera scans the upper part of the human
body and created a 3D model of the same. Which is 3D printed using
the 3D printers later.
Contributions:
• Base Motor Selection Calculations for rotating the base plate on
which the seat will be mounted.

Weight Shifting Wall Climbing Robot
Weight Shifting Wall Climbing Robot is one of five types of Wall
Climbing Robots. The Weight Shifting Wall Climbing Robot uses
clamp like arms to hold onto the handles and climb the wall. This
robot uses dual shaft servo motors for movement and Arduino
Microcontroller for control.
Contributions:
• Design modifications as per DFMA
• Preparation of Technical Drawings for Fabrication of components
• Technical Support to Fabrication Vendors for proper fabrication of
components

• Developed Algorithms and deployed them onto Autonomus Robot &
Manual Robot using MATLAB & Simulink tools.
• Did some Digital Image Processing for detecting shuttlecock using
MATLAB.

Modeling Competition organized by

ROBOCON NATIONALS 2017
Robocon is an international Robotics Competition for undergraduate
level students. Robocon is organized by ABU (Asia-Pacific
Broadcasting Union. Each year different countries host the Robocon
competition and release the theme consisting of different tasks to be
done by the robots and different counties participate in the
competition. Now to select the team which represents the country in
the international competition, Robocon Nationals are organized in
each country. In india, Doordarshan in collaboration with one of the
colleges organizes Robocon Nationals. Various colleges from across
the India participate in the competition. Winner of the Robocon
National in India represents India in international Robocon. Here is
the link for the theme for Robocon 2017.
