Objective
 Provide flexibility on placement of street
trees, location of sidewalks, and screening of
electrical service equipment
 Staff initiated in response to concerns
expressed by PublicWorks, CSU, and the Fire
Department
StreetTrees
 Currently - Required every 25 feet (spacing
may be varied to minimize conflict with
utilities and streetscape elements)
 Proposed - Expand flexibility to vary spacing
and location to minimize conflict with sight
distance, provide unobstructed view of traffic
control devices, and ensure Fire Department
access

adjacent to the back of curb
 Proposed - Provide flexibility for sidewalk
location alongWellborn Road and South
College Avenue to address public safety
concerns

exceptions)
 Proposed - Provide flexibility when required
to enable safe working clearance around
equipment
