greets you at the door. He or she will
introduce themselves with lots of smooth

favorite sports team is commonplace. In
that first half an hour, you feel like you have
found a new best friend. You may think to
yourself, “Wow, half of the presentation is
over, and we haven’t even been asked to
buy anything.” It isn’t long before you
realize that your presentation is not close to
over…… It has only just begun.
The Presentation
 Now that you have broken bread and made
 a best friend, it is time to get down to
 business. Your friendly sales rep shows
 you what she/he is there to sell you. The
 absolute, 100% best vacation property in
 the entire world, or maybe how another
 week or more points is just what you need
 to really maximize your vacation ownership
 experience. And right from the start, you
 know it will be out of your price range.
Reasons to buy
                    Even though the price is
                    high, you need to know
                    the reasons to buy:
                 1. It’s an investment!
                 2. It’s a tax write off!
                 3. The fees never go up!
                 4. It’s the LAST ONE!
                 5. You can rent it and make
                     money!!

                    Do any of these sound
                    familiar to you?
But WAIT!! There’s more!
              You can resell it !
              We will buy it back!
              If you buy MORE points,
              the fees will be LESS!
              You can travel more!
              MORE weeks mean
              MORE fun!
              You get cheaper airfare!
              You just won the lottery!

              And so on, and so on.
And now you are sold….
        But this still does not address the
         money issue. Yes, you love all of the
         great things that will happen if you buy
         this timeshare unit, add another week
         or buy more points. But you still can’t
         afford it. You look at your wife, your
         wife looks at you, you both look at the
         salesman, he looks back at you. And
         then, he asks you a few questions:
1.   Money aside, could you see yourselves
     vacationing like this? Don’t you love all of
     the features?
     Wouldn’t an extra week be great?
     Wouldn’t a DECREASE in maintenance
     fees be a great thing?
    You quickly answer: YES!
2.   If I COULD work a better price, lower
     your fees, lower your mortgage, WOULD
     you buy?
    ANOTHER YES! Or at least one of you
     does…………………
It all comes down to money
You have now been cornered. You have
  told a professional salesman that you
  love his product and that it is only about
  money. You are now the couple that
  salesmen dream of, but you know that a
  lowly salesman does not have the
  authority to change the price of
  something that costs tens of thousands
  of dollars. He says “I’ll be right back.”
Enter “The Closer”
              “The Closer” is better
                 dressed than the
                 salesman. He will
                 reemphasize every last
                 detail that the salesman
                 gave you. He is the
                 voice of authority. No
                 matter what, he
                 assures, he will figure
                 out a way to “get you
                 done,” get you
                 financed, lower your
                 mortgage, lower your
                 fees and make you
                 happy.
Within minutes………..
   a price you can live
    with (or so you think)
    You are quickly
    whisked to the closing
    area and you are
    signing your life away.
    You are just moments
    from owning your
    dream vacation
    property, doubling
    your points or buying
    another week. And
    then the nightmare
    begins….
Meanwhile, back at home…
   Reality sets in. You are home from your
    3 day “vacation” and that “free” trip just
    cost you 10, 20, 30,000 dollars or more.
    But let’s look at the bright side. You can
    travel for one week, every year, and you
    own it, right? Those extra 250,000
    points will really come in handy, right?
    The deal for another 3 weeks in
    Arkansas was just too good to pass up,
    right?
